Introduction

Sticky Notes ("we", "our", "us") provides an internal note-taking tool for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and process your data when you install and use our app.

Information We Collect

Sticky Notes is designed to be minimal by default. We only access the data necessary to provide the service:

• Shop Data: We collect your shop ID and domain to manage your account and subscription.
• Note Content: Internal notes you create (text, tags, and @mention tokens) are stored in Shopify metafields and metaobjects within your shop.
• Product Context: We read product information to associate notes with the correct product page.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Customer personal data (names, emails, addresses)
• Order or payment information
• Storefront visitor or browsing data
• Any data outside the product and metaobject scopes

Where Data is Stored

By design, your note data lives inside your Shopify store as product metafields and metaobjects. We do not maintain a separate external database for note content. Any session or configuration data required by the app is stored securely on our hosting infrastructure.

How We Use Your Data

• To create, save, and display internal notes on product pages and the global board.
• To highlight @mentions and apply tags for note filtering and search.
• To enforce plan-level feature limits (e.g., note count caps on the Free plan).

GDPR & Compliance

We fully support Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks:

• customers/data_request: We respond confirming no customer data is stored.
• customers/redact: We respond confirming no customer data is stored.
• shop/redact: We delete any shop-level configuration or session data we store externally.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Active Use: Notes are retained in your Shopify store (metafields/metaobjects) for as long as you use the app.
• Uninstallation: When you uninstall Sticky Notes, we process the shop/redact webhook to remove any external configuration. Note data stored in your Shopify metafields remains under your control in your store.
